01 · The studio

The standard stays. The approach doesn’t.

Steady Sun defines its output as functional art. Made to work as hard as it looks good.

Pastry launches, a three day bread shoot, a photo and video bank for a premium meat brand, curated gift boxes, a cosmetics launch, seasonal fashion cut into reels. Never the same brief twice, and never the same shoot to match. Menus, social, websites, campaigns and brand launches.

  • Food photography

Menu, hero and editorial imagery that makes a dish decide for the customer before they have read the description. Natural light where the room allows it, shaped light where it does not.

  • Product & packaging

Still life for launches, retail listings and press, built to sell on a shelf and on a screen. Considered surfaces, honest texture, no plastic gloss.

  • Bakeries & patisseries

Viennoiserie, pastry and bread, shot fast while the meringue still holds and the crumb is right, so what is on screen is what is in the case.

  • Hospitality & lifestyle

Rooms, hands, service and atmosphere, doing the work of a walkthrough before a guest ever arrives. The images that make a place feel like somewhere you have already been.

02 · The reel

A gallery that constantly evolves.

A running edit of the work the studio is proudest of.

03 · How it works

Reliable, from first call to delivery.

The steps stay the same, what we make within them never does. Most shoots land inside two weeks, sooner or later, depending on what you need.

  1. Conversation

What you are making, who it is for, and where the images need to live. Twenty minutes is usually enough.

  2. Creative direction

A short reference set. Light, palette, surfaces, angles, agreed with you before anyone turns an oven on, so the shoot serves your vision instead of guessing at it.

  3. Shoot

Half or full day, on location or in studio. Your team keeps working, we stay out of the pass.

  4. Delivery

Edited and colour graded, sized for print, web and social, so every image is ready to work the moment it lands. What holds up shapes the next shoot, too. Usually within a week.

04 · Selected work

Proof, not a portfolio.

This is not a highlight reel. It is evidence that the light holds, the standard does not slip, and what you get looks like this, not like a promise.

05 · About

Why we exist.

Photographer, San Francisco Bay Area.

A studio that is born out of love for the art, love for tarts, and the “how to get there.”

Steady Sun started in the kitchen with a love for visual arts, a serious weakness for pastry, and the travel that came later, chasing both. Food and photography were the things we geeked out over, obsessed about, and lost actual sleep over. Late-night shoots, obsessing over new recipes, later flights, and everything we picked up along the way.

Nothing here gets set once and repeated forever. We learn on every shoot, not just from it. Before we ever pick up a camera, we are asking about your kitchen, your light, your rhythm. During, we are watching how the room actually works, not how we assumed it would. After, we look at what held up and let that shape the next one.

We love being part of our clients’ journey. Our process stays natural, not templated. We do not arrive with a formula and shoot around it. We build the shoot around you, so the final images feel like your vision as much as ours. No two brands work the same way, so no two shoots should either.

If you make something worth looking at, let’s photograph it properly.

Bakeries, patisseries, cafés, restaurants and retail brands.

Tell us what you are making and when it needs to be seen. A rough date and a few references is plenty to start.
